Field Trip 1

I have never liked to go on field trips.  It is not because bad things would happen, but because I'd always get sick.  I'd be noxious and end up vomitting.  Well, yesterday we had our field trip.  An educational trip to one of the islands here in Mindanao, Philippines... Samal Island.  We were going to visit four places, 1) the mangrove site, 2) bat cave, 3) Hagimit Falls and 4) the White House.

I really don't want to go but since it was compulsory, I was required to.  During the trip I silently prayed to the Lord to keep me from vomitting for the entire trip.  Well, the 20 minutes by boat was a relief, the sea was calm and everything went according to plan.  Yeah, I had fun!  Really had fun!  I chatted with my classmates, we swam in the blue sea, we planted mangroves, we took pictures, we had fun!

Everything was exciting and I definitely engulged in the true, wonderful beauty of nature.  Before Samal for me was just a floating island, never realized that it was indeed beautiful and had so much to offer too!  This summer, I would definitely love to go there again and take a rest from the hazards of the city. The clean, cool and blue water, the white sands, the fresh air... yummy, I can feel it all over again!

As for our trip, I really thought that I would finally not get sick, but then, as we went home, my stomach started turning uneasy and yeah, I vomited.  Very bad.  Well at least I had fun.

Don't worry, I'll create and another post about our trip and try to fill you in with the details, plus pictures too!

All smiles! :)

The Joys of Meeting Friends

The subject title seems ironic when you will be able to read my entire post...
Ah.. here is another day where everthing was suppose to go just like it was suppose to be then all of a sudden, Mother Nature worked her way and decided to change your daily-routinal-boring life.  I ain't talking about any major dilemma or life risking crisis here, it is just another day of finding friends through the use of cellphones gone bad.

Ever tried having "textmates", you know, you text someone, someone texts you, you talk about anything so that eventually you'll become friends, lovers, enemies or nothing at all.  Well, it is very famous here and everyone is in search for their soulmates.  They like to meet people from different places, share stories and end up being friends.  I was also able to experience this kind of "networking", finding friends and partners through text, but, it did not went nicely.  Actually, I did not like the idea of not being able to see the person whom your talking to.  What's more weird is that, others ending up getting involved, being boy-girlfriends and when they finally agrees to meet each other, which is called, "eyeball", they ended up breaking up or just disappearing because they don't like each other in person.  Tough!  Well, I tried it again and here is what happened.

I usually don't reply to text messages from strangers, but since, this is another boring day, a certain beep from my cell and a number that was unregistered from my phonebook came to my attention.  It all started with "hi's and hello's", "where did you get my number" and the sort.  Then it all went bad.  I don't really know if it was my frankness, honesty and straightforward manner that got the other person on the other line mad, but well, it sure did.  I was trying a friendly, conversant manner way of texting him (yeah, the texter said he was a guy), replying to every message he sends and then he went mad.  He started accusing me of judging him before even knowing him!  The culprit?

Exhibit A:  The text message that started it all!

"b4 u startd askng me questns, let me ask u 1st, r u txtng me bcoz u wnted 2 gain a frend? or do u wnt somthing else? bcoz hnestly, im not available..." (Before you started asking me questions, let me ask you first, are you texting me because you wanted to gain a friend? or do you want something else?  because honestly, im not available..") sender: ME

I don't really know how he read my text but it surely made him reply saying, "How dare you!" (????) yeah, there are lots of question mark in my head and I don't like it when I'm confused.  I kept an openmind but he started going ballistic!  Still, I kept my cool and tried to straighten things out with him and got a, "You're rude and very judgemental," reply.. hello?

Exhibit B:  The text message that made it worst!

"luk mr., ur d 1 hu txtd me n d 1st place! i ws jus askng f u wnted me 2 b ur frend or not.. bt den u strted accusing me of being judgmental.." (look mister, you're the one who texted me in the first place!  I was just asking if you wanted me to be your friend or not.. but then you started accusing me or being judgemental.." sender: ME

From then on, he has never replied politely.  Well damn him! He surely created my day!  He eventually turned my boring life into something exciting!  I am not mad at him, just baffled... I wonder if he will text me back again???

This is all about ME!

So everyone this is practically my first entry here and I am hoping that I'll gain friends and stuff.  I have joined lots of blogsites, journal sites etc. and apparently I wasn't able to keep up with all of it.  I have created one or two entries and after that I stopped, because: 1) I was too busy, 2) I forgot the passwords, 3) I forgot the usernames, and 4) I forgot the website.  I will definitely do my best to update my journal each and everyday, try to post something interesting.  So guys, welcome me please!

My post today shouts... ME! ME! and more ME!

I like to write about anything, as long as a subject has gained my attention, stuck on my mind and my hands are itching to touch the keyboard or hold a pen, I write.  No specific topics, just about anything.  I also love to read books, well, not actually educational books, but more on fictitious and time-consuming novels.  Actually, I should thank those novels for teaching me my vocabulary.  What I know now about English grammar, I owe to them.  People often say that I am a good communicator and that my essays are good.  I don't really know if they are saying those things because it is true or that they just want me to pay for their lunch.  But still, their praises got me writing and joining contests.  Apparently, the readers who have reached this part of my entry would now conclude that this first entry is all about myself, and you are right!  I want to talk about myself a bit just so that hopefully if ever there will be future readers, they will know who the is author of the entry.

I am still in college and would really like to graduate as soon as possible.  I am very excited to be in the real world and have a job, and see if I can survive or not.  I often see people on television having problems on the most mundane things, thank God for parents, I am not having those problems.  A typical college student who live on other countries would probably be out of their house right now, has their own car and paying their own rent.  Well, a typical Filipino college student would continue to stay on his/her parents house until he/she gets married, have a child or get a job, plus, the vehicle part would eventually come when he/she reaches 30.

I value my education.  I take my studies seriously but  I am not the geeky type pf student.  Thank goodness that I was able to belong to the group of students who knows about fashion and at the same time values good grades!  As an accountancy student, a single low mark can cause so much.  Obviously, I wanted to become a Certified Public Accountant.  Don't ask me why because I myself don't know the real reason.  I just like the sound of it.  And the fact that the Board Exam has a high mortality rate is definitely a great challenge.

Well guys, I have to go now.  I am hoping that I will be able to write something soon.  Hope you'll keep me posted. Mwah!
